Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.tridentsociety.com/location/san-jose-ca for the Wilcox family.
Darin Michael Wilcox was born April 28, 1977 in Bellevue, Washington. He was legally adopted by Maurice & Patricia Wilcox shortly thereafter, joining the family that included his older sister Dawn Marie Wilcox. Father, brother, husband, boyfriend, uncle, son. Darin was smart, funny, compassionate and loving. He was talented in art and music. He could play a song on the piano after hearing it only one time on the radio. He loved the Lord. He was an incredible athlete and loved going fishing with his Dad, giving his Mom bear hugs and spending time with his sons. He loved animals and had a huge heart for any creature in pain. He also was very compassionate and generous with the homeless. When his Dad asked him why he said: "Because someday I will probably be homeless." Darin struggled mightily with addiction, incarceration and ultimately homelessness. He was hit and killed by a Caltrain in San Jose, California on Thursday, July 7th at 6:16 pm. There is much we don't know about his final days and hours, but we do know that in spite of his struggles, many loved him and we will miss him.
To honor Darin and to help others who've been in similar situations the family asks that you consider making a donation to MainfestWorks: https://www.manifestworks.org/donate
"hurt travels through time
from one person to another
this unwanted heaviness moves
from the past into the present
and then into the future
one of the most heroic things
anyone can do is break the line of hurt
when people heal themselves,
they stop the hurt from multiplying
and their relationships become healthier
when people heal themselves
they also heal the future"
