Giuliano Baldocchi (1/6/1946-2/9/2022) was born in Lucca, Italy to Lino and Geny and grew up with his younger brother Piero. As a young adult, Giuliano completed his military service in Italy in the genio ferrovieri in Piemonte, where he played a role in taking care of the railway connections. He came to California in September 1970. He co-owned a restaurant in his early years here. Later, he stayed in the hospitality business as a manager and waiter at different establishments the rest of his career, always spreading the love of good Italian food. In his youth, he enjoyed hunting, playing soccer, and his dog.
In 1984, he met the love of his life, Donna Kinosian. The two later married in a private ceremony in 1986.
Giuliano absolutely adored his wife and he said "she was the best thing to ever happen to him". His life revolved around his wife and their twin children, Chad and Nicole. He also loved to play golf later in his life and took his son quite often to share the sport.
He is best remembered for his huge smile, special laugh, jokes, and the way he captivated everyone’s attention telling memorable stories.
Sadly, Giuliano had several strokes due to diabetic complications in 2007. This led to a form of Alzheimer’s. His body succumbed to his illnesses after a long battle in 2022. His wife, Donna, his sister-in-law Darlene, his son, and his daughter took care of him for many years and were by his side until the end.
Giuliano passed away peacefully in his sleep while on hospice care peacefully in his home in Sunnyvale surrounded by his family. Giuliano is survived by his loving wife, Donna of over 35 years. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Darlene, his son Chad, his daughter Nicole (husband: Clark), and extended family and cousins and friends.
The family also wishes to thank his hospice caregiver, Nkiru Egemba, for taking such good care of him and helping the family for many months. And special thanks go out to friends, family and cousins (in California and Italy) and namely also to the Fass family for their many prayers and support during his illness.
