Jeanne was born in Great Falls, Montana on January 28, 1943. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts at Seattle University. After moving to California to teach Elementary school, she met her Husband of nearly 49 years, Frank Gieselman.
Together, Frank and Jeanne built a beautiful home in San Martin, CA and raised three children on their ~3-acre farm, which was once a cherry orchard. Their home has always been a retreat and the foundation of so many valuable memories for their children, their spouses and grandchildren.
Being a strong, self-assured, compassionate woman with a zest for life, Jeanne did not hold back. She sought out every opportunity to travel and experience the world with all its gifts God provided. She was passionate about her Faith, Family, Friends and enthusiasm to see the world.
Jeanne’s Catholic faith was very important to her and encompassed all aspects of her life. She lived everyday as a testament to her purpose in God’s plan. As a parishioner of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church for nearly 45 years, she dedicated much of her time to ministries such as Eucharistic Minister to the sick, Reachout, Birthright and much more. Her faith was celebrated and strengthened as she openly shared her experiences and sought to learn from everyone she served.
Jeanne took pride in her family and worked very hard to encourage, support, and nurture every one of them. After years in education administration, Frank and Jeanne made a bold decision for Jeanne to continue to teach K-3 grade, becoming the sole bread winner, while Frank returned full time to college to achieve a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Jeanne then left teaching to help Frank establish and manage a successful Chiropractic business in Morgan Hill for almost 20 years. Through the entire time, Jeanne maintained the family responsibilities at home, being sure to be there for all the children’s activities; school event, sports practices and games, piano lessons, 4-H meetings and more. Once Frank retired, Jeanne returned to teach as a Kindergarten teacher in the Morgan Hill School District until she retired in 2002.
Traveling was a passion Jeanne embraced throughout her life. She has enjoyed trips all around the world with friends, her children and Frank. She has looked out from the top of the Eiffel Tower, attended mass celebrated by the Pope John Paul VI, kissed the Blarney Stone, walked through St. Peter’s Square, rode an elephant and an ostrich in Africa, toasted and “broke the glass” in a Russian restaurant in Belgium, belly danced with a famous Egyptian dancer, strolled through Scotland Yard, cruised the Venice Canals in a gondola, and always made new friends along the way – many whom she stayed in touch with for years.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Frank Gieselman, their three children, Scott Gieselman, Julie (Gowett) George and Beckie Wood and their six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to the St. Catherine Church “Preserving our Past, Providing for our Future-Capital Campaign” in her name.
