Joe passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 4, 2022 in San Jose, CA. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years Jackie Brongiel, siblings Diana (Larry) Day, Marlene (Robert) Fischer, Karen Sanchez and Ronald (Cheryl Sanchez. He was a loving father and Papa to his grandchildren. Survived by his three sons, Greg (Ilana) Brongiel, Glenn (Laurie) Brongiel, Jeff (Christina) Brongiel and six grandchildren; Kelena, Katie, Hannah, Mackenzie, Colten and Kruz.
He is preceded in death by his father Sigmund John Brongiel (Daly City, CA), loving mother LaVergne Sanchez(San Jose/Mountain View, CA) both originally from Chicago IL.,and his step-father George Sanchez. Also proceeded in death by siblings Richard (Sharon) Sanchez and sister Loretta (Caton) Frates.
Joe was a Long -time resident of the Evergreen area of San Jose. He grew up in Mountain View CA and attended Mountain View High School. After high school Joe joined the Air Force and served 6 years. He was employed by Trend Technologies for 28 years and from there Pacific Plastics Engineering in Santa Cruz before retiring in 2014.
His family was his rock. His passion was keeping up with his sons by coaching them in Evergreen baseball, soccer, basketball, football and on the Creekside swim team and of course the attention he gave to his beautiful garden.
Joe will be remembered for his zest for life. Always the first to volunteer, his generosity and kindness to his family/friends/neighbors is well known. He had hysterical dance moves and basketball moves where he earned the nickname Jumping Joe! If Joe had one last wish, he would encourage everyone to raise their glasses (his being a bottle of Corona) and say, "Celebrate Life and enjoy it to the fullest"!
