My mother's passing was sudden but peaceful and she was surrounded by her immediate family (her two daughters, son and his wife and one granddaughter).  As a retiree, June was a healthy 90 year old who cared for her two beloved dogs, Andie and Maggie (walking them every day), kept in touch with friends, occasional shopping trips.    As a farmer’s daughter out of Lengby, Minnesota,  each year since 2006 when we purchased our current home,  she continued to grow her vegetable garden of tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber and green beans, tending to them daily.   She thoroughly enjoyed working part time for WCCC School District and befriended many including some of the students, working in the offices of the schools assigned, particularly Lake and  Collins Elementary.  She was also excited to hear her grandson Franco and his wife are expecting their first child.  This would be Gramma June’s second great grandchild.  Early on, she arranged to be cremated and brought home to Hercules, therefore  no immediate services are planned.    When my Dad passed in October 2012, I felt like I lost one of my bookends.  Now I have lost the other.
