Robert Joseph Bauer

Robert J. Bauer, 91, better known as Bob, passed away peacefully during the afternoon of October 30, 2016 to join his loving wife Josephine (Jo) E. Bauer. Bob and Jo had five children; Ken, Carol, Terry, Patty and Mary. They also had seven grandchildren; Joanne, Eric, Kaitlin, Anthony, Robbie, Brenna, and Molly. Bob was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He served with the Army Air Corps in World War II, and then moved to California in 1956, where he worked as a mechanic and shop inspector for United Airlines for 30 years. He retired almost 30 years ago. He always enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, camping, and walking, as well as dancing and pinochle. He was also a frequent visitor to the local gym, or spa as he called it, until his health no longer allowed him to go. Bob was kind and generous, and always greeted everyone with an infectious smile. He will be missed by his family and friends.
