Mike was born on February 24, 1974 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He moved around the country throughout his life, living in Texas, Colorado, Montana, Idaho and finally found his true home in Southern California where he resided for the past 23 years.
Mike married Lee Ann Griffin (Machado), the love of his life when they were a mere 21- and 18-years young. After moving to California, they were blessed with their two daughters. Mike was a stay-at-home dad for the last 18 years and was very proud of his role in their girls’ lives.
Mike loved his family fiercely and was a wonderful protector. He enjoyed collecting movies, comic books and tattoos. He loved to write stories and was a fountain of information of random facts. Above all else his greatest joy was being a husband and a father.
Mike fought a 26-year battle with chronic kidney failure, surviving two transplants and all of the complications that came along the way. He handled them with the bravery and stubbornness that could only come from a true fighter!
Mike has left behind a loving wife of 28 years (Lee Ann), and two beautiful daughters, Margie and Milla. Mike also left behind mother (Kathryn Becker), brother (Rob Griffin), his extended Machado family who loved him as their own and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be incredibly missed.
As per Mike’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Donate Life California at donatelifecalifornia.org.
