Sam Arrollado
1929 – 2022
Sam Arrollado, at the age of 93, passed very unexpected but peacefully in his home in Laguna Woods, CA with his daughters by his side holding their hands his.
Preceded in death by Daughter: Melani, Father: U.S. Navy Chief Bandmaster Jose, Mother: Grace and six siblings.
Survived by Son: Anthony, Daughters: Julie and Deidri, six Grandchildren, Brother George and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sam was Southern California born first generation Filipino American.
Upon graduating high school Sam enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He participated in the Invasion of Inchon Korea where he was part of the “Beach Masters” 3 man crew which, from shore and under fire, directed the landing crafts safely onto the beach. He received several Medals including 2 Bronze Stars and special Medal awarded by the country of Korea.
After his tour in the Navy he entered into a 37 year career in law enforcement joining the force as dispatcher and retiring as CSI with FBI training and certification as the 175th Latent Print Expert from International Association of Identification. During these years Sam received several Civilian and Departmental commendations for his work which led to the arrest and conviction of a multitude of active and cold case murderers, rapist and other criminals earning him the nickname “Cold Turkey Kid”.
Retired from law enforcement, Sam enjoyed his very active, happy retirement life and favorite activities of ballroom dancing, playing bingo, travel and gathering with his dear friends.
Sam will be greatly missed by many.
