3/20/1947 – 4/30/2020
On April 30, 2020, Jeffrey Robert Paul, 73, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord, after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Jeff Paul was born on March 20, 1947, in Oelwein, Iowa, where he lived until 1967. His journey took him through Oregon and many other places before settling in San Clemente, California for the last 33 years.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Jack” Paul and Dorene Paul. He is survived by his wife Normandy, son Arron Paul (wife Michelle), daughter Keri Caldwell (husband Jason), son Matthew Paul, granddaughters Shelby Paul, Ashley Paul, Presley Caldwell, Dylan Caldwell. Sisters, Barb Dreyer and family, Susan Spaziani and family, and numerous nieces and cousins, who knew Jeff well and loved him dearly.
Jeff met Normandy in California, in 1968. They were married on 11/7/1970 at 7pm in Las Vegas. Lucky #7! They were married just shy of 50 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, companion, friend, and provider. Jeff was a hard worker and put his all into his job as a long time Land Surveyor. He had a brilliant mathematical mind. During his spare time, he was quite the handy man. Where there was a project required, he was creating the answer with his countless amounts of tools. He was a great problem solver even if all he’d say is, “Now, now children, we are only together for a short time…” So true, so true. He had a dry sense of humor, and always wore a devious twinkle in his eye with a crooked grin. Always the trickster, the rascal, the softie, and the quiet voice in the background.
He loved ice cream, beets, gardening, shopping for power tools, hiking, naps, action/sci-fi movies, reading a plethora of genres including the Sunday comics, wearing white socks with sandals, getting into trouble. But most of all he loved his “Sunshine Family” with his wife, three amazing children and four beautiful granddaughters. He was so happy and proud of all of his kids and their families.
Whether it be family, friends, co-workers, or business associates. To all of those who touched Jeff’s heart and ours too. To those that had the pleasure of knowing him and his family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We appreciate all of you and thank you for sharing in this celebration of one man’s remarkable life. He was truly one of a kind.
Jeff will be forever missed, never forgotten and always, deeply loved by all of us.
