Susie, as she liked to be called, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from The University of San Carlos in Cebu. She began her career at GSIS (Government Service Insurance System), where she met her late husband, Isaac Flores. Susie and Isaac had one child, Jeisyl.
In 1973, when Jeisyl was just one year old, Susie applied to immigrate to America as the US was seeking medical professionals. Armed with her pharmacy degree, Susie and her family immigrated to USA in 1990.
Susie was blessed with two grandchildren, Tristen and Taylor, who cherished their time with their mama. They enjoyed creating dance videos together, taking her out for sushi, and sharing stories while cuddling with their beloved grandma.
A natural introvert, Susie loved the comforts of home. She found joy in baking, cooking, and gardening. She was not big on socializing and sometimes joked with her sisters during their calls from Canada, saying, “All we do is talk about the same stories.”
Ironically, Susie was diagnosed with cardiomegaly—an enlarged heart. She truly had the biggest heart: selfless, kind, and always willing to lend a helping hand. No words can capture the beauty of her compassionate spirit.
Susie lived a long and happy life. On her final days in the hospital, Susie courageously requested to stop medical interventions she knew could not cure her illness. She expressed her wish to return home to be with her family. On January 10, 2025, at 91 years old, Susie passed away peacefully, she was surrounded by all her loved ones.
