Kathleen “Kathy” Marie Watson,née Bohlen of Irvine, California, passed away on November 11, 2023 at the age of 69. She was surrounded by her loving daughters as she passed. Kathy was born on September 16, 1954 in San Francisco, California.
After graduating High School, Kathy obtained her Associates in nursing at College of Marin. She continued her training and soon began her career as an ICU nurse. Her passion for helping those in need was steadfast during her 30+ years experience in the field. She always made sure her patients never felt alone and was a marvel at getting even the sourest of them to smile. In 2017, Kathy returned to school and shortly after graduated with honors from the University of Phoenix with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing, an achievement of which she was immensely proud.
Kathy took a brief hiatus from work in the late 80s and early 90s to care for and raise her two daughters. She was the backbone of their family trio and always showed up for her daughters, in both the good and the trying times of life. Her devotion to them was unbreakable.
Kathy was a great lover of animals and affectionately had a ‘zoo’ at home. She often had several cats and a dog, and would also leave out bird seed and nuts for the opossums, squirrels, and other critters in her yard. Kathy had a green thumb and loved to sit in her garden and enjoy the sunshine. This is where she found the most peace.
Kathy is survived by daughters Gillian (William Wysocki) and Ainsley Watson, her parents Robert and Lola Bohlen, sister Deborah Hughes (Evan), and brother Charles Bohlen. She also leaves behind her beloved pets Hunter and Graham. She has joined her grandparents and good friend Kay in rest. She is and always will be greatly missed.
There are no formal services planned, however if moved to do so please make a donation in her name to any charity that helps to improve the lives of animals.
