Tanya Ross Stormes

She is survived by daughters Lori Malone and Lisa Stormes Hawker; son Rob Stormes; and grandchildren Chloe Hawker, Layla Hawker, Sandi Stormes, Ross Stormes, and Ailish Stormes.

Tanya was born in Beloit, Kansas and raised in Lincoln, Kansas, and was the daughter of Mervin and Mildred (Steeples) Ross. She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Kansas State University. She graduated with a teaching degree from Oswego Normal School (now SUNY Oswego) in Oswego, New York.

She met Bob Stormes in Manhattan, Kansas, while attending K-State. Bob was serving in the army at Fort Riley at the time. They were married August 22, 1959 in Fulton, New York, Bob’s hometown.

Bob took a job with IBM and they settled in Burbank, California, where Lori and Lisa were born. In 1963, they moved to Denver, Colorado, where Rob was born in 1967.

They raised their family in the Denver area and enjoyed Bronco games, entertaining, and traveling. In 1993, Tanya moved to Laguna Woods, where she lived the rest of her life, enjoying bridge, golf, sailing, and other creative pursuits. She enjoyed her family and most of all her grandchildren.
