Aaron M. (Bud) Twite passed away at his home with his family on April 18 at the age of 90. He was born was born July 22, 1927 in Craig, Colorado to Aaron Marcellus Twite & Pebble Malona Roberts. He was raised in Fort Collins & Denver CO. He joined the Navy during WWII at the age of 17. His father had to sign for him. He served in the So. Pacific on the Island of Eniwetok with his SEA BEE Unit until the war ended. He had signed up for 4 years and still had time to serve. He was stationed on the Destroyer Mine sweep, the USS Doyle, DMS34. He went to China on the ship for a year. Bud had signed up for the Naval Reserves after he was discharged in 1948 and was called back into the Navy during the Korean War. He served at Hunters Point in San Francisco taking ships out of "mothballs" to go back to sea.
Bud married Betty Lee Wilson on 8/7/1948 in San Diego, CA and were married 69 years and 7 months. They had two daughters, Carol Yvonne Twite Leonard of Sherrills Ford, NC and Debra Ann Twite Houx who passed away in 1987 from Breast Cancer. There are 3 Grandchildren, Danielle Lee Houx Keeline (Brian) of Murrieta, CA, Ryan Aaron Houx (Leslie) of Fallbrook, CA, and Jason Andrew Hill (Tiffany) of Temecula, CA.
There are 8 Great-Grandchildren; Trenton Houx-Johnson, Dillon Keeline, & Bridget Keeline of Murrieta, CA. Leyla Debra Houx, Rivers Aaron Houx, and Falynn Grace Houx of Fallbrook, ca. & Charlize Ann Hill & Colden Andrew Hill of Temecula, CA. Bud loved each and every one of them so much.
Bus is survived by his loving wife, Betty, daughter Carol (Steve), his younger brother Ed (Charlotte) of Peculiar, MO, & sister, Leanne Kanzler of Harrisonville, MO. plus all of the above listed grand & great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Debra, parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother plus one still-born brother.
Bud was a Contractor (Heartland Masonry, Inc.) in San Diego County, CA for many years. He was very active in the Masonry/Concrete Industry & served in many positions. He was President of the Masonry Contractors Assoc. of San Diego and Imperial Countries, Inc. In 1976-77. In 1989 He was presented with the “Mr. Masonry Award” by his peers.
Bud and Betty retires in 1989 & moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ & lived there until 4/12/2016 when they moved to Murrieta, CA to be closer to family due to Bud’s failing health.
Bud loved camping, hunting, fishing, and especially Square Dancing with the London Bridge Squares in Lake Havasu City. He loved his horse “Spike” and role him all over the mountains around the Lake Havasu City area as long as he could. He loved all the times boasting on the lake with the Grandkids. He loved traveling in his Motorhome & in 2007 took a trip to Alaska with 3 other RV’s of his family members. He celebrated his 80th birthday on that trip. He was a Lifetime member of the VA and a 45 year member of the Elks Lodge #2399.
Bud chose Cremation and his ashes will be “Comingled” with Betty’s when she passes and their urn will be buried within the grave of their daughter Debra, in the Ramona, CA cemetery. And so, they will be together “For eternity”.
