Betty started studying with Marge Cybalski a Jehovah Witness in 1948 and was baptized in Indianapolis Assembly in 1949. Betty was at the beginning of the Kingdom Hall being established in Michigan City, IN. She attended the meetings in the upstairs room above a store in Michigan City and remembers moving to a ground floor of a store building on Franklin St. in MC because of fire code regulations. The meeting area in the upstairs building was a fire hazard because there was only one exit in case of fire. A building fund was started, and property was purchased on Johnson Road off Highway 20. A new Kingdom Hall was built and the congregation met there until the present KH was built in the spot it is located on to this day.
Betty remained a loyal member of the congregation to the end of her life, March 25, 2024.
