David (Dave) Farmer, 76, of Hemet, CA passed away on April 20th, 2017, due to complications of lung cancer, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on May 12, 2017 at 1:30pm at his home church, Hemet Christian Assembly, 161 N. Thompson Street, Hemet, CA. David was born on June 24th, 1940 in Truman, Arkansas. He was a proud member of the very first graduating class of Ramona High School in Riverside, CA in 1958. David was an avid sportsman and held the pole vault record for Riverside City College for many years.
Dave dedicated the 1st half of his career to the United States Air Force, serving 25 years of active duty. A Master Sergeant, he served during the Vietnam War and was stationed many places including the Philippines, Okinawa, Thailand and Germany. His proudest part of being in the Air Force was being involved with the inception and building of the SR 71 project.
After retiring from the USAF, Dave started a computer supply business, which he enjoyed for another 25 years. In recent years he was very proud of his work in the churches Food Ministry and one of his only regrets is that he hadn’t chosen to serve the Lord sooner in life.
David is survived by Elizabeth Jane Farmer, his 3 daughters, Deborah Ann Beckwith (Cliff), Susan Renee Smith (Greg), Tracy Lynn Ziminski, (Jim), Sherry McCormick and his son, David Lee Farmer. His brother Paul Farmer and his sister Barbara Bankler. He is also survived by Joy Rebul as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
David is also survived by 6 loving grandchildren, Brooke and Jordyn Beckwith, Rylee and Rory Smith and Jack and Matthew Ziminski.
He is preceded in death by his oldest granddaughter, Shae Sullivan, his parents, Joel and Pearl Farmer, his sisters, Delores Hinkle and Peaches Schmidt and his brothers, Joel and Gus Farmer.
