David E. Garcia Jr. 81, of Coachella, California, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on March 13, 2017 in Indio, California. David was born on November 1, 1935 to David and Victoria Garcia Sr. in Weslaco, Texas. He served 12 years in the United States Army as a Corporal in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 6th Infantry Division based in Fort Riley, Kansas until his honorable discharge on September 30, 1961. He also worked for LTV Aviation and Gaylord Boxes.
On August 23, 1959, he married Blanca Elia Rios of Mercedes, Texas. They were married for 57 years and had seven children. In March of 1975, David and Blanca moved the family to California where their family grew to 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife Blanca E. Garcia and seven children. David (Linda) Garcia III, Maria Elena (Santana) Varela, Juan J. (Alicia) Garcia, Josie Garcia, Michael (Veronica) Garcia, Elizabeth (Tony) Manriquez and Linda Kaye (Ruben) Martinez Jr. 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren all from the Coachella Valley. He is also survived by his sister and brothers Maria Pinales of Anza, CA. Juan Oscar Garcia of Weslaco, TX. and Noe Garcia of Weslaco, TX.
He will forever be Loved and Survived by many.
A viewing service was held on March 15, 2017 in Beaumont, California.
