It is with tremendous sadness that our precious and extraordinary Dena L. Cohen; 81 years young, passed peacefully at home. She was held in the arms of family, being told how much she is cherished, loved and surrounded by love at her time of passing in Hemet, CA in the early morning hours on Friday May 7th, 2021.
Beloved wife of Sidney for 63 glorious and beautiful years. Loving and dedicated mother of Brian(Karen), Marlene(Keith) and Elise(Henry). Treasured and cherished Grandmother of 8; Jake, Keanu, Devon, KJ, Jenna, Julianna, Kieran and Jordan. Precious sister to the late Ernie(the late Natalie) and Herby(Ellen). Cousin, Aunt and Great Aunt to many. Adored and respected friend/family to anyone and everyone blessed to have known her.
Dena was born to the late Max and the late Jean Levitt on June 24, 1939. Dena lived and loved life strongly. She had a beautiful childhood and loved her parents and siblings very much. She met her love at Rockaway Beach, New York and subsequently married him, her one true love, Sidney on March 16th, 1958. Sidney and Dena were married for 63 beautiful and glorious years filled with love and adventure at the time of her passing. They loved to be together, travel together as well as with family by air, land and sea. They have been to so many places all over the USA and the World. Owning several boats and summers spent at Fire Island, N.Y. were also a big part of their lives. Dena was always the hostess with the mostest and thoroughly enjoyed preparing gourmet foods to share with others. Dena was a stay at home mom to their three children, for many, many years until she decided to work at Farmingdale College. She was very proud of her decision and she was an exemplary employee.
Dena was and always will be the beautiful epitome of what a Jewish Mother/Grandmother is. Beautiful, caring, loving, attentive, involved and all around an extremely outstanding person. She will live on in all of the hearts and love of all who knew her. No amount of years would ever be enough to love and keep her. She is and always will be cherished, loved and greatly, hugely, infinitely missed.
