Jerry was born on March 11, 1943 to Glen and Ethel Hovis in St. Louis, Missouri. Jerry’s family moved to
California when he was 15 settling in the Los Angeles area. He graduated from Torrance High School in
1961. Jerry married his first wife, Claire Jean Grams in 1963. Together Jerry and Claire had three
children, Robert Glen Hovis, Rhonda Gail Lynch, and Russell Grams Hovis.
Jerry married his second wife Wendy Trabold Hovis in March of 2001.They enjoyed many wonderful
years together until his death.
Jerry worked at Woodies Smorgasburger, Bell Brand Foods, and Coca Cola Enterprises. retiring in 2005.
Jerry enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, and fishing in his earlier years with his family and friends. His
later years were spent traveling the world with Wendy, going on many cruises, staying at timeshares, and
taking his motorhome on trips. He lived a full and active life. Jerry was loved by all who knew him.
Jerry was predeceased in death by his parents, Glen and Ethel Hovis, his older brother Donald Hovis, and
great granddaughter Eden Lynch. He is survived by his wife Wendy Hovis, son Robert Hovis, Russell Hovis
and his wife Molly Hovis, his daughter Rhonda Lynch and her husband Eric Lynch. He is also survived by 7
grandchildren, listed oldest to youngest, Erica Lynch, Robert Lynch, Parker Hovis, Cameron Hovis,
Mathew Hovis, Gavin Hovis, and Mackenzie Hovis, two great granddaughters, Peyton Hovis and Gracelyn
Lynch. He is also survived by his two step children Tamara Jordan and Randall Daugherty.
It has been expressed that Uncle Jerry was a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews and they all hold
fond memories of him.
