He attended Notre Dame High School and later attended USC, where he was a star athlete and served in the Vietnam war with the National Guard.
Gregg frequently travelled with his comedian father George Gobel.
Gregg is survived by his sister Leslie Gobel-McIntosh, cousin Beth Haynes, nephew Billy Bryan, and nieces Alice McIntosh and Becky Nimoy.
In addition to his parents George and Alice Gobel he was preceded in death by grandmother Lucille Humecke, Uncle Robert (Bob) Humecke, and sister Georgia Bryan.
He will be greatly missed.
