Helen was born on April 6, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of an Air Force Officer and lived in Mississippi, Nebraska, Spain, Montana, and Riverside, California where she attended Rubidoux High School, graduating in 1971. Most of her work experience was with the County of Riverside; she obtained various certificates in Purchasing, Labor Relations and Human Resources through UCR Extension.
Helen was known for her sweet and generous heart. She openly gave without ever expecting anything in return. She had a love for jewelry, diamonds were her favorite (her birthstone) and Princess House crystal!
Preceded in death by her father (Elsie Garrett), mother (Louise Garrett), sister (Arnetta Garrett) and brothers (Cranston and Langston Harold Garrett).
Helen leaves to cherish her memory; Three brothers, Melvin Harris, Gran Destino Garrett, and Edward Garrett; Two sisters, Francis Smith and Elizabeth Garrett; Daughters, Natalie Talanea Conner (Jimmy) and Shante Regina Morton (Donovan); Grandchildren, Jimmy Ray Conner, Billie Sha-ron Conner (Jaelyn), Naderie LaMae Conner, Monet Iman Morton and Donovan Ian Morton, II; Great Grandchild, Bryson Nathaniel Conner, and a host of nieces and nephews.
