January 13, 1931 – July 25, 2020
Ila Faye Johnson was born in Parrish, Alabama January 13, 1931, to Arthur W. and Anna Johnson. The youngest of four children, her siblings were A.W., Maxine, and Lorene. They moved west to the Los Angeles area when Faye was seven years old. She met the love of her life when she was 17 and married Donald T. Voll on July 2, 1950. They have resided in Southern California since then.
Faye is survived by her husband of 70 years; her four children Terri, Robert, Stacey, and Jayme; seven grandchildren Jessica, Jared, Taylor, Kyle, Kori, Jack, and Jenna; and four great-grandchildren Kaylinn, Mellody, Levi, and Ledger. She was preceded by her grandson Nathan.
Faye spent her life taking care of others, always there to lend a hand. Making sure her husband, children, and grandchildren were active and involved, she was their biggest fan, teacher, taxi driver, cook, counselor, enforcer, pool lifeguard, and so much more. Dementia may have taken her mind and body, but never her love for her family and her will. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Faye will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery on a date to be determined. There will be a small service with immediate family only (due to COVID-19). Outside flowers are not allowed. In lieu of flowers, if anyone wishes to donate, the family suggests giving to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Michael J. Fox Foundation (for Parkinson’s research).
