Jacqueline Wakeland known to friends as "Jackie," entered the heavenly realm blanketed in peace, joy and love on January 23rd, 2019 at 88 years of age. Jackie will forever be remembered and missed by her 4 daughters, Kathie (Gary) Storm, Bobbie (Art) Steller, Wendy (Frank) Lester, and Jana Miller, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren and a few broken-hearted hot dudes along the way. She was preceded in death by her beloved youngest daughter Laurie Rice MacGregor, and her little brother Jerry Stephens.
Jackie chose Dale and Harriet Stephens as her parents in 1931. She grew up as a mischievous left-handed tomboy who was deeply loved by her parents and her grandparents Charles and Leota Dodds. Jackie learned her worth from her parents and grandparents and valued and loved her children and grandchildren the same way.
Jackie worked in the construction industry for over 35 years with her most beloved job being executive assistant at Woodhaven builders, working for Dave Miller who trusted her completely in every aspect of his business. She was highly respected and also loved her time at Sta-Rite, F-S Inc,and B&J Redi-Mix.
Jackie was deeply spiritual, loved God and mother earth, teaching her children and grandchildren that their actions have impact, and to be responsible for the effect they create. She was a skilled seamstress, with one of her most beautiful creations being her daughter Jana’s wedding dress. Jackie was also an incredibly gifted crocheter and the love she wove into the stitches of hundreds of afghans will be enjoyed by many generations to come.
