Janet Eloise Frahm of Riverside, California, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2023 at the age of 92. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Frahm, and her son-in-law, Robert Yoshida. She is survived by her brother Burt (Sharon) Hogue, daughters Lynnette Yoshida, Camille (David) Marsh, Alanna (Al) Heinen, LeAnna (Doug) Gates, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. On April 10, 1931, Janet was born in Olean, New York and grew up in the nearby town of Hinsdale. 1957-1981, she resided in Riverside, California. 1981-2018 she lived in Chico, Mt. Shasta and Oceanside, California respectively. In 2018 a few years after the death of her husband, Janet moved back to live with her daughter in Riverside, California, where she resided until she passed away.
Janet was an avid gardener, serious crafter, and an active volunteer with her church. Throughout her life she spent weekends and evenings helping children with 4-H projects, and Sunday School lessons. Many of her summers were used as a camp counselor and craft director for children’s programs. In her later years she would sit for hours crocheting hats to send to missionaries in Africa. Along with her husband, she made time to prepare meals in her home for military families. For several years she served as chairman of her church Women’s group. She is vividly remembered sitting in her recliner in the early morning, reading her Bible and praying for the needs of others.
Janet loved to travel and visited countries and places related to her Christian faith, cultural heritage, and family connections. Through the years she continued traveling back and forth across the United States visiting as many family and friends as possible along the way. Just before her 90th birthday she took a road trip with her daughter in an Airstream trailer from California to Georgia. Up until her death she rarely missed a social event. With her oxygen tank in tow, she tried to attend every wedding, birthday, family reunion, graduation, Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving celebration regardless of the location. Her last big social gathering was Easter 2023. At that time, she shared her 92nd birthday with 31 family members. Without a doubt, she loved God and her family, and devoted her life to serving others.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Memorial Service, at Lighthouse Christian Church, 4700 Mesa Dr., Oceanside, CA 92056, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
