Marlene was born on September 13, 1937 in Nova Scotia, Canada and was adopted by Raymond & Christene MacDonald. After her father's death, she and her mother immigrated to Southern California where she spent the rest of her life. Marlene married Carl Cardey in 1957 and raised 3 children in Riverside, CA. She spent her working years as an Executive Assistant in healthcare in Corona, CA.
In her adult years, Marlene learned of her birth parents and warmly welcomed a half sister and half brother into her family. She had a passion for listening to others and relating to people around her, making new friends all throughout her life. During her retirement years, Marlene loved to spend time with family and friends and traveled often. She was most known for her kind and compassionate spirit and a listening ear.
Marlene is survived by her three children Laura, Paul (Paula) and Steve, her four grandchildren Danica (Chris), Jillian, Lance and Trevor, her half sister Lillian, and her half brother Jim, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Christene Salvage and father Raymond MacDonald.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, funeral services will not be held at this time. A memorial service and Celebration of Life gathering will be planned for later in 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association on Marlene’s behalf.
