Born August 5th, 1932 in Brookfield, MO to Ercyl and Beatrice Coons, he was the youngest of 3 children. He graduated from Hale High School in 1952 and served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-54. After returning home he went to work at Fairbanks Morse Pump Co. in Kansas City, Kansas. He raised his daughter in Overland Park, KS and after 40 years of dedicated employment, he retired in 1994. He moved to Warsaw, MO where he enjoyed life living on the lake. In 2015, he relocated to sunny California to live closer to his daughter and landed in Palm Springs where he loved the desert heat.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Angeline, sons, Dan and Terry, granddaughters Corrinna and Natalie, great grandson, Tristan, nieces, Linda and Lois Jean, nephew, Darryl Lee and many longtime friends he made over the years. He was preceded in death by his sisters and grandson, Robert. A celebration of life will be scheduled in Kansas City in the fall.
