Roy was born in the North End of Boston on July 11,1928 to the late Victor and Giaconda (Santori) Manni. He is survived by his sons, Roland V. and his wife Karen of Florida, Paul R. and his wife Jean also of Florida. 4 stepchildren Jack Groat, David Groat, Michael Groat and Diane Thomas. His 9 grandchildren, Alicia, Jenna, Jason, Christopher, David, James, Joseph, Jeffery, and Jolene. 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the beloved brother of Rose Rocca, Henry (Hank) Manni, Mary Naples, Rita Farrington, John Manni, and the late Luigi Manni, Clara DeCarlo, and Victor Manni.
Roy was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked for Columbia Packing Co in South Boston and resided in Peabody, MA until his retirement. He and his wife Joanne traveled the country during retirement and settled in Palm Desert.
Roy cherished his time with his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was famous for his over-sized vegetables, especially his zucchini!
A celebration of Roy’s life will be held later this year.
