Ruth Sharley Reutter

R. Sharley Reutter was born on June 10, 1936 to Lois Clarke and Cornwell Olesen in Loma Linda California.

Sharley and Chuck Reutter were sealed in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days in April of 1981.

Sharley passed away on January 5, 2022 from complications from Cancer in her Sun City home after over two years of dealing with the cancer.

Sharley is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Reutter, sister Kristin O. Johnson of Connecticut, brother Steve Olesen of Florida, son in law Michael Gilbert and three grandchildren in Maryland in addition to two nieces and a nephew.

Sharley graduated from Long Beach City College in 1987 with an AA degree in Accounting.

Sharley spent many years in the LDS’s Family History Center on Bradley Road in Menifee compiling her Family History going back to the 1200s. This information will be shared with the Clarke and Olesen families.

One of the highlights of Sharley’s life took place in 1992 when her daughter whom she gave up for adoption in 1962 Lauren Gilbert located her. Sharley was so happy when Lauren came to California to meet her and learned Lauren was raised by a great family and this knowledge made Sharley happy. Lauren was married to Michael Gilbert with whom she had three children. Sharley and Lauren developed a loving relationship and spent time together on the east coast and in Sun City. Unfortunately Lauren passed away from an accident in her home on November 1, 2021.
