Salvatore (Sam) F. Sedita passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023, at home in Murrieta, CA., at the age of 84. He was born on Valentine’s Day February 14th,1938 in Buffalo, New York to Charles Sebastian and Angeline Delores (DeFebbo) Sedita, who are both deceased.
Sam served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1962. During his service, he spent time in Spain, across Europe and South Dakota. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to Southern California where he met his future wife Bertha Edith Cloutier. They married in 1967 and moved to Colorado to raise a family where their two daughters were eventually born, Angeline Marie Sedita and Nicole Ann Sedita. He resided in Colorado, in the state he always loved, for over 20 years.
After the Air Force, he joined TWA working in California, Denver, and finally in St Louis in which he continued his love for aviation for over 34 years. In his younger years, he was also a pilot, which he thoroughly enjoyed and was an avid target shooter. He spent many weekends exploring the Colorado mountains with his family, and was also known for being a great cook, especially his meatballs and red sauce.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Bertha who passed on February 5, 2002. He is survived by his daughters Angeline Sedita and her husband Thomas F. Monahan, and Nicole Sedita, as well as his two very close brothers Dominic Sedita and Charles Sedita, his sister Mary Zubek, and multiple nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his 17-year life-partner, Yvonne Boehm, who shared her life, love and companionship with him after the passing of Sam’s wife.
As he requested, there will be a private burial with his immediate family at Fort Logan Veterans’ Cemetery in Colorado. Those who wish to remember Sam can donate in his name to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (www.pcf.org), or the Colorado Tree Coalition (www.coloradotrees.org).
