James Levi Thomas was born on August 6, 1945, to Alease Martin in Goldsboro, North Carolina. James was married to Beverly Thomas (Hubbard) who preceded him in death. James departed this life to be with the Lord on February 5, 2024.
James was a student at various schools in Newark, New Jersey where he grew up. On September 13, 1965. James was drafted into the United States Army. His rank was an E-5 and he received a Good Conduct Medal. James separated from the Army with an honorable discharge on June 6, 1968.
James was a gregarious person who lived life to the fullest, always joking around, and willing to help a person in need.
James was preceded in death by his niece Lucretia Parmely, his youngest sister Rose (Princess) Parmely, his sister Margaret Parmely (Rasheeda El-Amin).
James leaves behind a bonus son Robert Cheek.
James leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother Alease Parmely (Fields-Martin), of Sacramento, CA, his sister Pearl M. Parmely of Sacramento, CA, his sister Marilyn Parmely of Columbia, SC. And a host of nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and grand nephews.
