It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Davidson. Janet is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Jen and Geoff Jenkins, her treasured grandchildren, Logan and Justyce Jenkins, her brothers Ron (Jan) Minearo, and Robert (Lesley) Minearo, sisters Becky (Randy) Venard and Vickie (Frank) Lucido, along with her niece Tamara (Dave) Hollars, and her nephews Peter Minearo, Brice Albert, and Ian Minearo. She is also survived by her two beloved fur-babies Cady and Cooper who brought her joy every day.
Janet was born to parents Vic and Sarah Minearo and was raised in Monterey. After graduating school she soon embarked on a career in banking as a teller. As a single mom with a young daughter, Janet quickly discovered that banking and finance was a career that suited her well, and one that would provide her with career opportunities that would generate the support she desired for herself and her daughter. Indeed, Janet built a successful career in banking and had risen to the position of Western Division Manager before retiring in 2017. Janet received many honors throughout her career and was well recognized as a leader. She was quick to form relationships in business and in her personal life. Janet was adventurous and wasn’t shy about forging ahead through whatever obstacles might present themselves.
Janet’s friends are many and are all across the Nation. She loved to explore, and traveled both domestically and in Europe many times. She met wonderful people on her adventures, and many became lifelong friends and traveled with her repetitively.
An avid motorcyclist, Janet formed a local chapter of Women on Wheels in Sacramento, a women’s biking group that attracted other like-minded women. She enjoyed riding with her friends, both for short weekend rides and long cross country trips. Being on a Motorcycle was a pleasure that Janet had enjoyed since she was first introduced in her early teens when her father, Vic, taught her how to ride a sport bike during many camping trips that were taken as a young family.
Janet was preceded in death by her long-time partner, Chet Arachy, who passed in 2016, and her parents who passed in 2011. Janet will be missed beyond words. Due to COVID, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to contribute in memory of Janet, donations to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, New York City, NY would be appreciated.
