Peter Lima Jr., 78, passed away on January 24, 2022, due to COVID. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Peter managed his illnesses with strength and grace, and spent as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his family, who he adored more than anything else in the world.
Peter is survived by his wife Susan, children Vivian, Christine, Chanel, Peter, Michael, and Wendy, grandchildren Alexis, Connor, Hayden, Emily, Aidan, Gavin, and great-grandson, Raiden, his brother Frank, and all his favorite cousins. Peter was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Stella Lima.
Peter was a hard-working man who grew up working for his father’s plumbing and dairy businesses, and upon graduating from El Camino High School joined the Navy as a corpsman serving in Vietnam. Peter, a proud veteran, then went on to become an O.R. Tech, and finally retiring as a Sr. MTA from Folsom Prison.
Peter was a busy family man, who in his spare time loved being outdoors, spending time with his family, and volunteering. He volunteered as both a softball and soccer coach, served as a Past President of the Dante club and was a lifetime member. Peter was also an incredible handyman, car enthusiast, and mechanic who could fix anything. He was a great friend, giver of piggyback & shoulder rides, and the driver for one more trip around the block in his VW bug before he would head off to work. Peter was a talented man and the list of the various hats he wore is an impossible list to finish.
Two of Peter’s biggest accomplishments were being a loving husband followed closely by being a father. His children thought the world of their dad and he was their superhero. Peter leaves us with a legacy of Love, as he knew how to love and loved well. It is this legacy of a loving heart that he gifted us with that leaves the biggest hole. Pete will be dearly missed so very much by his family and all who knew and loved him.
A funeral mass and celebration of life reception will take place at St. Rose Church, 615 Vine Ave, Roseville, CA 95678.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations in Peter’s honor be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the Gary Sinise Foundation for Veterans and First Responders, or perform a random act of kindness.
