Ronald Joseph Bei Sr.

He was born in Woodland California on 8/18/1950. He grew up in the town of Esparto and graduated from Esparto High School in 1968. After graduation Ron attended Sierra College where he studied ornamental horticulture. He worked in landscaping and had his own landscaping business for 30 years. After being self-employed, Ron worked as an estimator bidding large commercial streetscapes, parks, recreational and sporting facilities.

As a hobby, Ron loved wood working. He loved to make children’s toys and gave many of them as gifts. His toys brought smiles to many children’s faces. He enjoyed many hours of wood making which also included making some beautiful wood writing pens. Another pastime he enjoyed was fishing. He loved to fish for salmon along the Sacramento River.

However, he took the most enjoyment from his family. He loved to go to his Grandchildren’s sporting events, band performances and dance recitals. He loved family dinners and just being surrounded by family. He loved to cook and feed family and friends. He was a great cook and no one ever left his home hungry.

Ron was married to the love of his life and best friend Jeanne Bei for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife, and by his son Spencer Bei (Nancy) and sons Roy Modar and Jimmy Modar (Shawn). He is also survived by 4 beautiful grandchildren that he truly adored. Alyssa Bei, Brandon Bei, Nick Modar and Sophie Modar

Please join us in a celebration of life on Sunday, May 16th at 1:00 PM at the home of Spencer and Nancy Bei. This will be held outdoors in their back yard. There will be a short ceremony starting at 1:00 and it will be followed by good food and fellowship. All are welcome to share your fondest memories of Ron.
