Born on September 14, 1929, in Robbins, California, to Neil and Ida MeKeel, Wilma grew up on a family farm, where her lifelong love of gardening first took root. She shared a joyful childhood with her sister, Francis “Fran” (Frank) Staderoli, and brother, Neil (Barbara) MeKeel. Time spent with family was always cherished.
In 1947, Wilma married the love of her life, John Blair, Sr. Together, they built a warm and loving home. Wilma was a devoted homemaker and an avid gardener, known for her abundant vegetable and flower gardens. She delighted in sharing her harvest with friends and family.
Wilma and John raised three children: Wanda Stephenson of Madera, CA; Patricia (Hugh) Sherman of Lodi, CA; and John Blair, Jr. of the Jackson area, CA. She found great joy in motherhood and in watching her family grow.
A passionate traveler, Wilma loved exploring the beauty of the United States. Alongside her husband, sister Fran, and brother-in-law Frank, she embarked on many adventures throughout the western states, never missing a chance to take in the sights.
Wilma was a proud grandmother to five: Kathleen (Vassillis) Livathinos of Greece; K.C. (Paul) Texeira of Kailua-Kona, HI; Kimberly (Ken) Burnthorn of Pleasanton, CA; Gavin Moore Kimberly (Ken) Burnthorn of Pleasanton, CA; Gavin Moore of Denver, CO; and Tyrell Blair of the Jackson area, CA. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, two greatgreat-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored and loved spending time with. Her extended family brought her much happiness over the years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Blair, Sr.; her sister, Francis Staderoli; and her brother, Neil MeKeel. Wilma will be laid to rest alongside her cherished poodle, Molly.
In accordance with her wishes, Wilma’s ashes will be scattered at sea in Fort Bragg, CA, at a later date.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Oaks at Inglewood in Stockton and Seva Hospice for their compassionate care during Wilma’s final days.
In her memory, we honor a life beautifully lived and a love that stood the test of time. In her final days, Wilma shared, “I want to dance again with your dad”. They are now reunited, dancing together once more—this time, through eternity.
