Brian E. Loescher passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 28, 2025, near his home in Oceanside, CA, after a long fight with cancer. Brian was cared for by his long-time partner and love, Vicki Upton until his death.
Brian was born October 22, 1946, in Norfolk, VA to Herman and Ida Loescher who preceded him in death.
Brian grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where he attended and graduated from Sudlersville High School in Sudlersville, MD. After high school, Brian attended drafting school in Philadelphia, PA, before enlisting in the United States Air Force and serving overseas during the Vietnam War. Brian achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1978.
After his military service, Brian moved to California where he resided in Pittsburg and later Oceanside. He attended Santa Clara University and received his BS in Business Administration and Economics. While in California, Brian worked for Northrop Grumman and Siemens Medical Solutions as a Manager and Senior Technical Writer where he received high accolades from coworkers and supervisors alike. Brian also worked for OmniLingua as a strategic consultant Manager for Technical Publications before retiring to his Oceanside home.
After retiring, Brian became involved in service to his Oceanside community and was instrumental in organizing the Community Emergency Response Team for his area. He served on his development’s Board and enjoyed interacting with his friends, neighbors, and community, and taking long walks to the ocean.
Brian is survived by his partner, Vicki Upton, four younger brothers, Steve, Chris, Barry, and Jim, and three sons, Scott, Shawn, and Shane.
Brian will be interred in Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover, DE, close to where his parents and grandmother are buried. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the American Cancer Society or other charitable organization.
