Chuck graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1950, then served three years in the Army during the Korean War. After the Army he moved to California, married Eileen (Jewel) Scudellari, and began working at General Dynamics Convair Division as an Aerospace Planner. While at Convair he was actively involved in many of its clubs and activities, including the Fishing Club, Coin Club, Square Dancing, CB Club, and many others.
After retiring he enjoyed woodworking and going to Laughlin for blackjack tournaments. Chuck and Jewel also took many trips in their motorhome across the United States, eventually visiting all 50 states. He is remembered by his family for his love of playing games, his recliner chair, roast beef and noodles, cherry pie, and telling stories from his life to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Chuck is preceded in death by parents Roscoe and Ethel (Bice) Willey, brother Raymond, and sisters Vaneta, Macil and Marie. He is survived by his ex-wife Marjorie and their two children, Pamela (Frank) Hillis, and Debra (Ed) Roundcount; his wife of 68 years Eileen (Jewel) Willey and their three children, Robin (Thomas) Fishbaugh, Cathy (Joseph) Koppel, Ross (Cindy) Willey; and a total of 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend the interment at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA, on February 21, 2025, at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12:30 to 5:00 at the Club House in Pepperwood Park, 1120 Pepper Dr, El Cajon, CA.
