Dorothea Jo-Alice Jung

Dorothea J. (Barry) Jung, the daughter of Henry and Beatrice (Dellamano) Barry, was born and raised in Floral Park on Long Island, NY, along with her sisters, Babs (Sr. Beatrice Barry, CSJ) and Lorraine, and her brother, Skip.

She attended Our Lady of Victory Grammar School in Floral Park and Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School in Brooklyn, NY and Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA.

After college, Dorothea taught elementary school on Long Island for a couple of years before going overseas to teach children at two military bases in England and Germany.

In 1963, Dorothea relocated to Mountain View, CA, and taught school in San Jose, CA.

It was on the West Coast that Dorothea met the love of her life, Jack Jung.

Dorothea and Jack were married on July 19, 1969, and, later, Jack’s job brought them to Redondo Beach, CA.

Eventually, they moved inland to Fallbrook, CA where Dorothea and Jack operated a real estate business for many years.

Upon their retirement, they moved to a house in Carlsbad, CA and, later, joined the community at La Costa Glen.

A service for Dorothea
