On April 22nd, Earl “Bart” Albert Ehrenberg passed from this life to be with his Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. Earl is survived by his wife, Judy (Peterson) of San Diego, daughter Deborah (Will Wagner)of Marion, IA., and son David of Encinitas, CA., two brothers, Ralph (Tessa) of Falls Church, VA., and Richard (Kim) of Whitewater, WI.. He has two grandchildren, Christopher Walker (Grace) of Chandler AZ., and Jennifer Walker and great grandson Blake Walker of Marion, IA., and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Earl was born on June 7, 1929 to Albert and Lillian (Bender) Ehrenberg of Waconia, MN. Earl met the love of his life, Judy, at Glacier National Park in 1951. They were married December 28th, 1953. Earl entered the Air Force cadet program in 1952 and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel as a pilot, serving during the Korean War. He was on active duty for 9 years, and continued with the reserves for another 13 years while becoming a pilot for American Airlines. Both in the military and as a commercial pilot, Earl and family were able to travel the world, vacationing in many countries. One of his greatest loves was his “2nd life”, that of a cowboy. That is when he became to many that knew him well, Bart Montana. Earl loved riding horses, and went on many cattle and horse drives. Throughout his life, Earl made friends wherever he was, and kept those relationships going for decades. He never met anyone he couldn’t talk to, and was always looking for how to give instead of how to receive. He loved life in San Diego, always looking off the deck of his home to the west, watching for the “green flash”, the sun setting into the ocean. As he approached the twilight of life, his relationship with his Savior grew deeper. Memorial services are planned for Saturday April 29th, 2:00 pm at Clairemont Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2610 Galveston St. San Diego
