Farquhar - Macbeth

Vista – Farquhar (Scotty) MacBeth, passed away peacefully on July 7th, joining his loving wife Joanne to rest in Paradise. Born in New York City on November 28, 1927 to Archibald and Rhodena MacBeth, originally from Grand River, Nova Scotia, Canada. Scotty spent his summers in Grand River. He joined the Marine Corps January 1946, Overseas Duty included Korea, Okinawa and Vietnam. He retired as a Major in January 1972. Scotty then pursued an AA degree in Accounting, graduating June 1974, the same month as son Ken graduated high school. He then worked for Electrolux 18 years, retiring in 1992. Scotty married the love of his life Joanne on September 13, 1952. Scotty loved golf, crossword puzzles, playing bridge and a good joke. He was an avid reader, when asked what he was doing for the weekend, his response could be “spending it with a new author”. Scotty never lost his thirst for knowledge or teaching those around him. Scotty is survived by his children Ken & daughter in law Kim, Kaye & son in law Kim Hutchison, Colleen & son in law Tim Hetzel, Kevin & daughter in law Keri plus numerous grand children and great grand children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Ken and Kim MacBeth on July 30, 3-6 PM. The family will have a private Military Honors Ceremony on July 31, 2017, 10:00AM at Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to a charity of your choosing.
