George Williams, Jr. passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in San Diego, California, at the age of 83. Born on March 18, 1942, in Roselle, New Jersey. George lived a full and vibrant life, calling Santee, California, his home for nearly 55 years.
George proudly served his country in the United States Navy from January 1960 to March 1963. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a diesel mechanic, eventually rising to manage the repair shop where his skills and leadership were deeply valued.
Outside of work, George’s greatest joy came from the sea. A passionate deep-sea fisherman, he spent countless hours on the water, sharing his love of fishing with family and friends. As his dementia progressed, his family continued to nurture his competitive spirit by taking him to shoot pool, where his talent as a former pool shark always shone through. George also had a deep affection for animals, delighting in giving them treats and coming up with playful nicknames for every pet he met.
George is survived by his son, George H. Williams III, daughter-in-law Stacy Williams. As well as his daughter, Yvonne (Vonnie) Warrick and son-in-law Randy Warrick.
His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Lindsey Warrick, Ryan Warrick, Skyler Williams, and George (Cody) Williams IV.
He is also survived by his siblings, Patricia Carroll and brother-in-law John Carroll, Roberta Cox and brother-in-law Stan Cox, and Frank Williams.
George will be remembered for his big heart, his humor, and the countless ways he brought joy to those around him.
A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a local animal shelter or dementia research organization in George’s memory.
