Janet Faye Waters of Oceanside, California passed away on Friday, July 28th, 2023 at the age of 87. She was born on April 4th, 1936 in Havelock, Iowa. She grew up in a small town in Iowa with 4 siblings. Janet loved to play basketball, and she was also on the high school cheer team. She graduated from Havelock High School in 1954 and married the love of her life soon after. Their life then led them through Colorado, and eventually all the way to California.
Known best for her nurturing, loving, and giving spirit, she always made sure to take care of those around her and inspire others to do the same. After raising her four sons, she spent much of her later years in life caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved and cherished deeply. One of her greatest joys in life was cooking and baking, and will undoubtedly live on in the memory of all those who loved her as the best cook and baker they’ve ever known. Her recipes and cooking lessons will be cherished and passed on for generations to come.
Another great joy in Janet’s life was caring for her dogs. Friends and neighbors are sure to remember countless conversations with Janet as she walked her beloved furry friends every day.
Those who loved her will always see her when a hummingbird flies their way. An avid gardener and lover of all living things, she had a particular fondness for hummingbirds. She tended to her beautiful hummingbird garden so diligently that her backyard became an established migratory stop for hundreds of hummingbirds every year.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ode “Happy“ and Bertha. Siblings; Gladys, Joy, Loryl, and Jerry, as well as her Great- Grandson, Dominic.
She is survived by her loving Husband Edmond, and Sons; Richard (Esther), Jeffrey (Mary), Scott, and Danny (Jo).
