thinking about you today. miss you brother.

Joe had taken me on a tour of the Harbor Drive Bridge when it was nearly complete, and I remember how proud he was. I believe that this bold, innovative, and breathtakingly-beautiful bridge is a true reflection of his leadership style.

We will always remember the good times with Joe in Fallbrook growing up.  Cubs Scouts, baseball, birthday parties, band, friends, building our house, traveling overseas, vacations, homework.  Enough memories to last forever.  love you Joe , Mom and Dad

Joe was smart and knew how to live well every day.  He rode his bike everywhere like a thirteen year old,  with a big smile on his face, always making new friends.

I knew Joe for all the years at TYLI (30+yrs).  My memory is filled with encounters, experiences, words spoken, laughing, and friendship/brotherly love shared.  I loved him from the start - blonde hair, SoCal guy, surfer, and a creative/brilliant bridge engineer. Every time we met at TYLI management functions, he was always asking about me and the PHX office. He was responsible for challenging me to grow from a small group of 4 to over 30 in a 10-year span. I also made his Christmas Card list (picture of his beautiful daughter included). He never hid his love for his daughter. Final thoughts - I will always remember his creativity, his personal challenges he shared with me, his love for his family, and his wonderful smile! He has left a legacy of kindness, humor, fun, and never a quitter during difficult times. I will miss him very much.

Words can’t express the gem this world has lost but Joe - you will remain as a shining light through each of us. The greatest advocate of anyone and everyone you loved, the impact you have made on us all will carry on. We won’t let you down. Thank you for all you saw in me when I didn’t know what to see in myself. You were my biggest and most favorite pain in the rear and my number one supporter. I thank you for all that you taught me. I can still hear your voice, your laugh, your complaints, and your undeniable optimism for life. I’m still shattered but I know you’re watching over us all and propelling us to do great things. You will live in my heart forever. 

Joe was an amazing friend, I learned a lot from him and his legacy will last an eternity, he always had a good joke and will raise everyone's spirits with his smiles and great punchlines. I will miss him for ever!

Joe was a leader, a mentor, and a friend. When I started working at TYLin six years ago, Joe was the first manager to take a real interest in me, and my goals and offered his experience to get me there. Joe truly believed in me and was the first to express this to me as a temp-to-hire employee. That is something I have never forgotten. Joe was the first to celebrate my successes and always checked in on how I was doing professionally and personally. Joe was funny, charismatic, deeply caring, driven, and incredibly smart. Joe, I will miss you forever. Thank you for everything you have taught me. I carry your lessons with me every day and carry you in my heart. 

PS. I will also never forget the day I saw the below magazine cover. Joe, you still crack me up! 

Joe was a mentor to me at the start of my career and a dear friend from the start to present. I will miss talking to him and sharing the stories of life. RIP
