Judy worked as a Contracts Administrator for General Dynamics/NASSCO prior to retiring. She retired in 2018 after having worked on the water front for 45+ years. She was well respected in her field.
She was a staunch animal lover with a passion for cats, and a habit of adopting various strays that crossed her path. She also liked antiquing, clothes, and shoes. She loved to cook, and spending time with her family and friends was something that she always enjoyed. Her compassion was boundless, and she would help anyone who needed it.
She was preceeded in death by Her loving husband, Charles “Giz” Gezovich who passed 12/9/2018.
They are both survived by their Children. Her Son and only child by birth, Geret Lee Chaney. Also, her three step daughters Kimberly, Theresa, and Shauna. All the grand kids from all three daughters, as well as a whole host of siblings and their extended families.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at both Kaiser permanente and Sharp Memorial for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days. Both at her home and at the hospital. We’d also like to thank the Meals on Wheels program for all their support. I’d also like to thank the Trident Society for making this as painless as possible.
Judy didn’t want a Funeral or Service. She wanted everyone to remember her in their own way. There will be no interment as she has requested Cremation, and for her Son to keep her ashes with those of her husband.
There are several good people that I personally want to thank for all their support. Angie & Jeff Mercer, Hank Howe, Vicky, Jerod, and Theresa. They each provided much needed love and support giving freely of their time. Providing rides to appointments, keeping her company, and sharing meals with her. You folks helped us immensely when we needed it the most, and I will always be grateful. Don’t think that we have forgotten about the rest of you, her friends. She loved you all very much.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to any no kill animal shelter or, to local support services like Meals on Wheels.
