Raised on the plains of eastern New Mexico then later, Las Cruces, she graduated from New Mexico State University in 1953 with a Bachelors Degree in Education. In 1962 she earned a Masters Degree from Boston University in a partnership with Perkins Institute in Boston, MA

La Nöel’s career path took her to Alamogordo, NM and Batavia, NY teaching at the respective state Schools for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, Kappa Kappa Iota and Delta Kappa Gamma as well as many other service organizations.
In 1998, La Nöel moved to San Diego, CA where she enjoyed the weather, volunteering in her church and traveling with her sister and friends.
In 2011 La Nöel moved to Fredericka Manor Retirement Community and filled her time with numerous volunteer and travel opportunities.
Under the care of Sharp Hospice, she slipped away peacefully on January 27th.
La Nöel will be greatly missed by her sister in-law, 9 nieces and nephews and their families and a collection of loving friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Fredericka Manor at a later date.
