Manton received his B.S. in Mathematics/Economics from Arizona State University in 1965, a M.S. Applied Engineering Mathematics in 1970, and a Ph.D. from Arizona State University, Computer Science.
Manton was involved in the development of 2d and 3d CAD/5 axis CAM, Robotics, Telephone Networks and Corporate Networks. He retired as a Vice President at AT&T. He performed system engineering studies to determine performance requirements for autonomous Guided Vehicles and Target Recognition Systems.
Manton had a generous personality and loved to chat, with people, read about finance and engineering, and walk his dogs. He loved to travel. He was an active hiker who guided Eagle Scouts thru the Grand Canyon. He enjoyed basketball, football and loved to play golf and tennis.
Manton is survived by his loving wife, Pamela, and Robert & Gloria Steinberg and their children, Renee McCracken, and Scott Steinberg and families. He also had two nieces, Nickie Davis and Jenny Pagano and two nephews William and Chad Presley and their families.
