Marcia “Marci” Annette Runnion of Ramona, CA passed away on Tuesday October 12th, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born on July 4th, 1937 in Highland Park, Michigan where she eventually grew up Donelson, Tennessee.
She graduated from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute, Cookeville, Tennessee in 1955 and attended two additional years of junior college with a major in Physical Education.
She worked as Clerk-Typist for Vanderbuilt University from February 58 to July 1959 until her enlistment into the United States Navy that same year.
She loved animals and had numerous pets throughout her life, cherishing everyone of them. She is extremely close to the San Diego Humane Society and the Frosted Faces Foundation in Ramona, CA.
She is preceded in death by her longtime partner of close to 50 years, Lyda Lou Boyer.
She is survived by only her friends and her loving dog Lenny.
She was of the Greatest Generation and extremely headstrong and self-sufficient up to her final day.
She would like to thank firstly Kathleen and Daniel Perry who for close to 30 years of close friendship ultimately became her family. She would also like to name Julie Buchanan and Monette Marino for helping her with her fiscal wellbeing and then Glenn and Annette Dugan for their extreme kindness and support as well as their accepting her pet Lenny into their home.
Even though she touched many lives with her personality, there will be no memorial service as Marci would have hated to bother anyone.
As she was an Honorably Discharged U.S. Navy Veteran, she will be interned at at Fort Rosecrans with her partner Lyda Boyer who was retired U.S. Army Veteran.
