Modena Gail Svensen

Modena Svensen of Chula Vista, CA passed away on November 27 at the age of 85. She was born on February 6th, 1939 in Hannibal, Missouri. The family relocated to Los Angeles, where she grew up. She graduated from Bell High School and received her degree from LA State.

She worked as a highly regarded elementary teacher for 38 years.

She was known for her intelligence and wit, and was a passionate and prolific reader. She enjoyed time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and watching SDSU Men’s Basketball.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna, and nephew Michael.

She is survived by her children, Shannon (Darren) and Eric (Kelly), grandchildren Courtney and Aaron, nephew Mark (Molly) and cherished lifelong friends Dodie and Carol.

The family would like to thank Rosario for the care and compassion she showed our loved one in her final years.
