Phyllis Lorraine Westcott

Phyllis Lorraine Westcott (nee Leach) of Carlsbad, CA passed away on Thursday April 20, 2023 at the age of 95 years young. She was born on October 18, 1927 in New Brunswick, NJ. After her marriage to Wilbert Westcott III on March 11, 1950 she resided in Edison, NJ until her retirement. She relocated to Toms River, NJ in 1989.

She received a diploma in nursing and worked as an RN doing private duty nursing until she started a family. After raising her family she returned to work at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, NJ in the Pediatric Clinic until her retirement in 1988.

She was preceded in death by her mother Martina and her father Fred Leach, her husband Wilbert Westcott III, and her two sisters Shirley Ackart and Rachel Hollender.

She is survived by her daughter Brooks Kabo, her son Wilbert (Kip) Westcott IV, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family would like to thank the multiple nurses, caregivers and staff of Advantage Systems Hospice Care in attending to her needs with the care and compassion they showed to her during her final years.

Interment will take place at a future date at Old Tennent Cemetery located at 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan NJ 07763 next to her husband.
