Reynaldo Carizal Cuesta, 82, a resident of Menifee, California went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2021; Riverside, California. He suffered a heart attack and passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Reynaldo Carizal Cuesta (Rene) was born on March 9, 1939 to Consuelo (née Carizal) & Atty. Maximo Cuesta Jr. in Lingayen, Pangasinan of the Philippines.
Rene grew up in a large family in the Philippines and enjoyed sharing fond memories of his life in his home country that includes spending time with his dad and beloved relatives, socializing with his school friends, playing sports, and being involved in the community. He received his law degree from the Philippine Law School of Manila and became an attorney for the Court of Appeals. He moved to the United States to follow the love of his life, Carmelita (née Morales) in 1970. They got married and settled in California to build their lives and family together.
Rene was proud of his accomplishments in sales, marketing, real estate, and legal consulting. Rene was always described as a passionate and charismatic individual who was an outgoing man that surrounded himself with close family and friends. He was an exceptional writer, great story-teller, and was known for his fine speeches and presentations. He enjoyed playing tennis in his younger years and became an avid golfer. His fashion appearance of 3-piece suits, button-down collared shirts, polished shoes, collection of ties and cuff-links as well as sporting his golf attire was always his style that he took pride in. His love for watching tennis and golf tournaments, listening to music, and ballroom dancing will always be remembered.
Rene was supportive of his family as he would make the effort to be involved in their lives regardless how weak or sick he was. He found time for his children and grandchildren with every opportunity given to him. You would always see Rene capturing every moment with his family on his camera phone which allowed him to display his affection for his loved ones on social media. He would proudly share each cherished visual moment-especially those of his grandchildren and wife. Rene and Carmelita were inseparable and did absolutely everything together until the very end.
Reynaldo Cuesta is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carmelita Cuesta, 5 children and 14 grandchildren: Jonathan Cuesta (children, Maximillian, Alexander, and Xavier); Joanna Cuesta Festejo (husband Allan, children Aaron, Desiree, and Chase); Jennifer Samuel (husband Courtney, children Maddox, Braxton, and Kendrix); Jeanette Tyler (husband James, children Jessalyn, James Jr., and Joeanne); and Aileen Cuesta-Brown (husband Doug and children Mason and Amaia).
Rene was a loving husband and father who undeniably showed his love for his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile and charming personality. He lived a good life and he will continue living with us in spirit.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 3:00 p.m at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 444 N. Azusa Avenue, La Puente CA 91744
