Robert grew up in Long Beach, California, and joined the Marines in 1969, serving at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. He dedicated his time to coaching baseball and football with local Pop Warner and Little League teams for his son and grandson. An avid camper, dog walker, and collector of coins and baseball cards, Robert was known for his humor and ability to make others laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Margarita; daughters Nena Yeoman (Doug Yeoman) and Alisha Castaneda (Roberto Castaneda); son Robert Pilkington (Laura Pilkington); and grandchildren Eros and Emma.
