RuthAnn Hofman (née Kingsfield), age 81, decided to 'cell' off into the great beyond on August 31, 2024, in Santee, CA. Born on September 25, 1942, in Racine, RuthAnn was the life of the party, even when the party was a solo microscope session. Her knack for histology wasn't just about tissues and slides; it was about finding the joy in every little detail.
With a personality that was more infectious than anything she ever encountered in a lab, RuthAnn spread kindness and laughter as effortlessly as she prepared her specimens. She is survived by her loving son Tim Hofman, daughter Lori Hofman, and grandsons Mitchell and Reede Hofman, who will continue to share her stories, probably embellished with the kind of fun-loving hyperbole she so enjoyed.
RuthAnn was preceded in death by her Husband, Gordon in 2003.
RuthAnn was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia in 2005. She battled CLL with fierce and awe-inspiring determination.
She was a true warrior.
In a nod to her generous spirit, those wishing to honor RuthAnn's memory are encouraged to make a contribution to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It's a positive way to keep the essence of RuthAnn's giving nature alive and multiplying, much like the cells she so loved to study.
